Following master planning, the first phase of community updates focused on updating apartments, cottage homes and amenities to meet current resident expectations and maximize occupancy levels.

Army Residence Community was established in 1982 in San Antonio, the heart of Texas Hill Country. Now comprising 143 acres and offering a full continuum of care, the community serves those retired or honorably discharged from all branches of military and federal civil services, as well as spouses and surviving spouses. Like many senior living communities of its age, the time had come to update community aesthetics, offerings, and amenities.

Appealing Residences and Vibrant Amenities

The main lobby, dining venues, auditorium, meeting room, corridors and top floor event space were all updated, reoriented and, in some cases, expanded for contemporary aestheric appeal, operational efficiency and enhanced utilization.

Apartment and cottage updates increased occupancy levels and positioned the community for future expansion and senior care residence updates.

Kitchens and Dining Venues

Updates provide better flow, variety and appeal, as well as enhanced operational efficiency.

The main production kitchen was completely gutted and rebuilt. A second kitchen was added to the top floor amenity space and a back kitchen area was set up to serve as an efficient staging room for food service in the renovated auditorium.  This eliminated the need for a separate serving kitchen in the performing arts venue.
